Thrilling rides are just one part of the fun at the LVH—Muhlenberg Summer Festival.

Not only does the Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)-Muhlenberg Summer Festival continue a tradition of family fun, it results in better health care for the people of our community.

Held each August at the LVH—Muhlenberg campus on Schoenersville Road in Bethlehem, Pa., the festival is one of the hospital's largest fund-raisers and one of the community’s longest-running traditions. It has raised nearly $2 million dollars during its robust history to support patient care services at LVH-Muhlenberg.

The very first festival was held in 1959 and raised $4,400, compared to last year’s total of more than $70,000. In past years, proceeds were used to purchase heart monitors, X-ray equipment, IV pumps, an ultrasound machine, a treadmill and stepper machine, gynecological equipment, stretchers and patient-transport chairs.

Admission to the four-day festival is free. There is nightly entertainment, children’s activities, amusement rides, ethnic and American foods, and dozens of arts and crafts exhibitors. Each year, more than 300 dedicated hospital volunteers, auxiliary members and employees give their time to create an event that is a treat for the whole family.
